Offshore Pricing. North American Standards.

The economics of offshore tooling are real. A complete progressive or transfer die built offshore can cost significantly less than the same tool built domestically. The problem has always been quality control, lead time reliability, and who is accountable when the tool does not perform to North American stamping standards.

Cameron Tool built its global hybrid tooling program specifically to solve those problems. We established long-term partner relationships with eight exclusive offshore facilities that we have personally qualified to produce complete progressive and transfer dies to North American standards. We manage the full program from design through offshore production through Cameron Tool buyoff in Lansing. You get offshore pricing on a complete die program backed by Cameron Tool standing behind the result.

This is not a brokered offshore sourcing arrangement. Cameron Tool owns the program, manages the partner relationships, and is accountable for the tooling that ships to your production line.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Three Build Options Cameron Tool offers three levels of hybrid tooling build to match your program requirements and budget. A complete tool built with full Q-loop quality checks and buyoff at Cameron Tool in Lansing before the die ships to you. An 80% build option in which the tool arrives at Cameron at 80% completion for final work and first-part validation before delivery. A 60% machine-build option, in which the tool ships at 60% completion for customers who prefer to complete domestic final machining and fitting. Each option is priced differently and gives you flexibility to balance cost savings against domestic content requirements.

Qualified Partner Network Our eight exclusive offshore partner facilities have been personally vetted and qualified by Cameron Tool over many years of working relationships. Five partner companies produce Progressive dies to North American standards. Three partner companies produce Transfer dies to North American standards. These partners are not sourced through a directory. They are long-term relationships that Cameron Tool manages, monitors, and holds accountable to the same quality standards we apply to our domestic die construction programs.

Full Design Support Cameron Tool's engineering team provides complete program design support including AutoForm simulation, strip layout development, and fully detailed 3D solid designs in NX 2019 before offshore production begins. All design communication with the offshore partner is handled by Cameron. Your engineering team reviews and approves designs through Cameron. You never need to manage a technical conversation across time zones or language barriers.

On-Site Quality Management Cameron Tool project managers work on-site at our offshore partner facilities to monitor production quality, material equivalents, and heat treat compliance in real time. Progress updates are available on request throughout the build. Material equivalents and heat treat requirements are verified against North American specifications at every critical stage. Nothing ships without Cameron Tool approval.

Cameron Tool Buyoff in Lansing For complete tool builds, the die comes to Cameron Tool's Lansing facility for final buyoff before it ships to your production line. We run the die on our press floor, produce first-off parts, and inspect them on our CMM equipment against your part specification. If the tooling does not meet spec it does not ship. You receive a validated die and first-off parts as confirmation. That Cameron Tool buyoff is the guarantee that makes this program different from standard offshore sourcing.

BUILD OPTIONS IN DETAIL

Complete Build with Cameron Buyoff The offshore partner builds the complete die to Cameron Tool's design and quality specifications with Q-loop quality checks throughout production. The finished die ships to Cameron Tool in Lansing for tryout and validation on our press floor. First-off parts are produced and inspected before the die ships to your facility. Best option for customers seeking maximum cost savings and full Cameron Tool validation before delivery.

80% Build with First Part Off The offshore partner builds the die to 80% completion. The die is shipped to Cameron Tool for final machining, fitting, and first-part validation. Cameron completes the remaining work, validates the tool, and ships to your facility. Best option for customers who want offshore pricing with more domestic content on final finishing and validation.

Kit Build Small die details and components are machined at the LCC facility and shipped to Cameron Tool in Lansing. Cameron Tool machines the larger die details domestically and installs the LCC components alongside them. Cameron Tool then handles all die assembly and tryout in-house to prepare the tooling for customer buyoff at our Lansing facility. You get the cost savings of offshore-machined details with Cameron Tool managing the full assembly, validation, and buyoff process end to end.
